Riyadh Season 2025-2026: The Complete Guide
Complete guide to Riyadh Season — zones, events, concerts, tickets, dates, attendance records, and everything visitors need to know about the world's largest city-wide festival.
Riyadh Season 2025-2026: The World’s Largest City-Wide Festival
Riyadh Season is the anchor event that has redefined Saudi Arabia’s capital as a global entertainment destination. Organized by the General Entertainment Authority under chairman Turki Alalshikh as part of Saudi Seasons and Vision 2030, the sixth edition launched on October 10, 2025, and runs through mid-March 2026. The scale is staggering: eleven entertainment zones, fifteen world championships, thirty-four exhibitions and festivals, and a previous edition that attracted 20 million visitors from 135 countries. The 2025 edition drew one million visitors in its first thirteen days alone.
For visitors, Riyadh Season transforms the city into something between a permanent carnival, a world-class concert series, and a global food festival. The programming covers every interest — sports, music, theater, comedy, dining, shopping, rides, and cultural exhibitions — distributed across zones that each offer distinct experiences. Understanding the zone structure is essential to planning a visit, because the sheer breadth of the season means that attempting to see everything without a strategy results in exhaustion rather than enjoyment.
The growth trajectory tells the story of ambition meeting execution. When the first Riyadh Season launched in 2019, it was an experiment — could a city with no modern entertainment tradition attract international visitors to a curated festival? The answer came fast. By the fourth edition the festival had become one of the most-attended city events on Earth, surpassing long-established festivals in Europe and Asia by sheer volume of visitors. The sixth edition represents a maturation: the programming has moved from headline-grabbing novelty to a sophisticated blend of mass entertainment, niche cultural offerings, and luxury experiences calibrated for different visitor segments.
The Zones
Boulevard City
The first free zone in Riyadh Season 2025, and in many ways the emotional center of the entire festival. An open-air entertainment and lifestyle destination with 80-plus international restaurants, luxury boutiques, pop-up shops, fountains, gardens, and a man-made lake. Six new experiences were added for 2025 including 20-plus concerts and 14 theatrical performances. The atmosphere on a Thursday evening — the start of the Saudi weekend — rivals any entertainment district in the world: families, couples, and groups of friends circulating through a landscape of light, sound, and culinary variety. See our full Boulevard City profile.
The free-entry model is strategic. Boulevard City functions as the gateway drug of Riyadh Season — visitors who come for the free atmosphere inevitably discover ticketed events, restaurants, and experiences they want to try. For budget travelers, it represents one of the best-value evening entertainment options in the Gulf, offering hours of ambiance and people-watching at zero cost.
Boulevard World
The massive themed entertainment zone and arguably the most ambitious physical space in Riyadh Season. Boulevard World features 1,600 shops, 350 restaurants and cafes, 40 rides, and 24 subzones representing different countries. Three new zones were added for 2025: Kuwait, South Korea, and Indonesia. Each country zone recreates architectural styles, sells authentic products, and serves cuisine from the represented nation. Walking through Boulevard World is a compressed global tour — the Korean zone transitions to the Indonesian zone with distinct food stalls, performances, and merchandise in each. See our full Boulevard World profile.
The scale demands time. Visitors who allocate a single evening to Boulevard World will see perhaps a third of what the zone offers. A thorough visit requires a full day, and even then the variety of rides, dining options, and shopping within each subzone means return visits reveal new experiences. The 350 restaurants alone represent a dining ecosystem that could sustain weeks of exploration without repetition.
Beast Land
The world’s first physical Beast Land attraction, developed in collaboration with YouTube creator MrBeast. Spanning 188,000 square metres, Beast Land features 15 major rides, 14 interactive experiences, and a 50-metre bungee jump. The attraction represents the convergence of digital fame and physical entertainment — MrBeast’s audience of hundreds of millions of subscribers provides built-in demand, while the physical attraction offers the tangible experiences that digital content cannot replicate.
For families and younger visitors, Beast Land is frequently the primary reason for attending Riyadh Season. The interactive experiences are designed around the challenge-based format that defines MrBeast’s content, creating a participatory atmosphere where visitors become contestants rather than passive observers. The 50-metre bungee jump is the zone’s signature adrenaline attraction.
Boulevard Flowers
Replaced Wonder Garden for 2025, and the result is one of the most visually spectacular spaces in any entertainment festival globally. Boulevard Flowers covers 214,000 square metres featuring approximately 200 million planted flowers, 3D floral art, and 200 giant floral sculptures. The zone is designed for the social media era — every angle offers a photograph-worthy composition, and the color saturation of 200 million flowers in curated arrangements creates an environment that looks artificially enhanced but is entirely botanical.
The floral sculptures range from massive representational works — animals, architectural forms, cultural symbols — to abstract compositions that use living flowers as a sculptural medium. Evening lighting transforms the zone again, adding another dimension to the visual experience. For visitors interested in photography, Boulevard Flowers provides some of the most distinctive images available in Riyadh.
The Groves
Premium dining and shopping zone opened November 5, 2025. Seven fine-dining restaurants and sixteen high-end stores. The Groves represents the luxury tier of Riyadh Season’s dining ecosystem — a deliberate counterpoint to the mass-market food courts and casual restaurants that dominate the larger zones. Where Boulevard World offers 350 restaurants emphasizing variety and value, The Groves offers seven restaurants emphasizing quality and exclusivity. See our detailed Groves guide and our Fine Dining Guide.
Additional Zones
The remaining zones include dedicated sports venues, performance spaces, and themed entertainment areas bringing the total to eleven distinct destinations across the city. Each zone maintains its own character: some focus on family entertainment, others on extreme experiences, and others on cultural programming. The distribution across Riyadh means that different zones pair naturally with different hotel locations — visitors staying in the Olaya district have easy access to different zones than those staying near KAFD or Diriyah.
Major Events
Sporting Events
The fifteen world championships hosted during Riyadh Season 2025-2026 span a remarkable range of disciplines, each bringing its own international fanbase to the city:
- Six Kings Slam Tennis — Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Jack Draper. October 15, 16, and 18, 2025. The most star-studded tennis exhibition in history.
- WWE Royal Rumble — January 31, 2026. First time held outside North America, marking Saudi Arabia’s progression from hosting occasional WWE specials to integrating with the permanent calendar.
- Boxing — David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde at anb Arena (November 22, 2025). The WBC Boxing Grand Prix ran five phases from April 17 to December 20, creating a sustained boxing presence rather than a single-night event.
- Snooker Championship — Global Theatre, November 19-21, 2025. The inclusion of snooker alongside boxing and tennis demonstrates the breadth of Riyadh’s sports programming ambitions.
- Premier Padel P1 — February 9-14, 2026. Padel is the fastest-growing sport globally, and Riyadh’s hosting of a Premier Padel event positions the city within an emerging sport’s top tier.
- PIF Saudi Ladies International Golf — February 2026. Women’s golf in Saudi Arabia represents a significant cultural milestone alongside the sporting achievement.
For the full sports calendar, see our dedicated guide.
Music
Music programming during Riyadh Season spans from arena-scale global headliners to intimate venue performances:
- MDLBEAST Soundstorm — December 11-13, 2025. The Middle East’s premier music festival featuring Cardi B, Post Malone, Calvin Harris, Halsey, and Pitbull across multiple stages.
- XP Music Futures — December 4-6, 2025. A music industry conference that precedes Soundstorm, creating nearly two weeks of concentrated music industry activity.
- 20-plus concerts at Boulevard City throughout the season, featuring both international and regional performers at venues including the Mohammed Abdo Arena and Kingdom Arena.
The concert calendar transforms Riyadh into a destination for music tourism during the season. Artists who five years ago would never have considered performing in Saudi Arabia now compete for Riyadh Season slots, drawn by production budgets that match or exceed the world’s top festivals.
Entertainment and Exhibitions
- Comedy Festival — World-class stand-up at Boulevard City featuring international comedians alongside the growing Saudi comedy scene.
- 14 theatrical performances at Boulevard City, spanning drama, musicals, and experimental formats.
- Auto Show Riyadh at Kingdom Arena with 50 cars as prizes — a draw for automotive enthusiasts and a spectacle for casual visitors.
- Joy Awards — The annual entertainment awards ceremony celebrating achievement across Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding creative industries.
- Sneaker Con at Boulevard City — the global sneaker culture event finding an enthusiastic audience in Riyadh’s fashion-conscious younger demographic.
- Jewellery Salon exhibition — High-end jewelry exhibition attracting international houses and regional designers.
- Black Hat MEA at Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center — cybersecurity conference reflecting Riyadh’s growing role as a technology hub.
Venues
Riyadh Season has developed a network of purpose-built and adapted venues that provide the infrastructure for its programming:
- Mohammed Abdo Arena — Named for the legendary Saudi singer, this major concert and performance venue hosts the season’s headline musical acts. Capacity and production standards match international arena norms.
- Kingdom Arena — Large-format events including the Auto Show and major sporting broadcasts. The arena’s flexibility allows it to transform between configurations for different event types.
- anb Arena — Purpose-built arena for boxing and sporting events. The intimate configuration creates an atmosphere suited to combat sports, where proximity to the action enhances the spectator experience.
- Global Theatre — Theatrical performances and specialized events including the Snooker Championship. The venue’s acoustic and staging capabilities support the season’s dramatic programming.
Ticketing
Many public zones are free to walk around — Boulevard City’s free-entry model means visitors can experience the atmosphere, restaurants, and general entertainment without purchasing tickets. Most specific attractions and events are ticketed through WEBOOK (the official ticketing platform). Check riyadhseason.sa for current schedules, pricing, and availability.
Ticket pricing varies dramatically by event and tier. General admission to rides and attractions tends toward affordable, while VIP and ultra-VIP packages for headline concerts and sporting events command premium prices. The tiered pricing structure means that Riyadh Season can serve both budget travelers exploring free zones and luxury visitors seeking exclusive access.
Planning Your Visit
Timing: October through March. The season typically runs approximately five months. Major events cluster in specific weeks — check the calendar before booking flights to align with your interests. The October launch tends toward concerts and opening ceremonies, November features cultural events and sporting fixtures, December centers on Soundstorm and Noor Riyadh, and January through March brings the remaining sports championships.
Hotels: Demand peaks during marquee events like Soundstorm and the Six Kings Slam. Book accommodation early — prices can double or triple during headline weekends. See our Hotels section, Best Areas to Stay guide, and Luxury Hotels guide for specific recommendations.
Transportation: The Riyadh Metro connects zones across the city with six lines and 85 stations. See our Getting Around Riyadh and Metro Guide. Uber and Careem are widely available but expect surge pricing during major events, particularly at event conclusion times when thousands of attendees request rides simultaneously.
Duration: A serious exploration of Riyadh Season requires minimum three to four days to cover the major zones and attend events. Boulevard World alone can fill a full day. Visitors who want to attend both entertainment zones and specific events should plan five to seven days minimum.
Budget: Free zones (Boulevard City) enable cost-free exploration. Ticketed events and premium dining zones (The Groves) require additional spending. See our Budget Travel Guide for cost-optimization strategies. A realistic budget for a four-day Riyadh Season visit — including hotel, food, transport, and two to three ticketed events — starts around SAR 3,000 for budget travelers and exceeds SAR 15,000 for luxury experiences.
Weather: The October-March season coincides with Riyadh’s most pleasant weather. October remains warm (highs around 35 degrees Celsius), but by December temperatures drop to comfortable levels (highs around 20-22 degrees, lows around 8-12 degrees). See our Weather Guide for monthly breakdowns.
What to Wear: Smart casual works for most Riyadh Season venues. Premium dining at The Groves or fine dining restaurants may require more formal attire. See our Dress Code Guide for specific recommendations.
